From Booklist
Gr. K-3. This colorful starter atlas offers a selection of large, simple national and regional maps. Major physical features and political divisions are shown, and picture symbols indicate animals, industries, and landmarks. Children are also introduced to some important map concepts, such as grids and scales. There is one map for the U.S. (Alaska is shown with Canada). A cartoon penguin serves as the child's guide through the atlas, and appears on the story boxes that contain interesting facts and accompany each map. The atlas comes with a poster displaying a map of North America and state and provincial flags.

Kingfisher delivers on another great educational tool
This is another great Kingfisher educational tool. My daugher loves it. It is a great way for her to learn all about the world, cultures and indigenous animals of countries, continents and oceans. My sister sent this book to me and I absolutely love it.
Good First Atlas
Easy to read, colorful pictures, a great book for your child's collection. It has facts about the differnt lands, shows pictures of the animals native to relative regions and tibit facts. Very basic and simple. My daughter uses this as a reference to her storytime books. She will, for example, find Paris where 'Madeline' lives. It is easy to handle and look at too.
